Ascott Gurney Penang
7th December 2022 - 9th December 2022
2022 is a turning year after two years of unprecedented events due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which has affected the health of many lives and caused economic disruptions worldwide. We look forward to the upcoming challenges and opportunities ahead for our colleagues and friends in the reopening of conferences that have been adapted to modern times.
I am excited about the new changes happening to the College of Radiology. This year we have raised the bar in international networks with the ESR meets Malaysia in July 2022 in Vienna, Austria, and KSR meets Malaysia in September 2022 in Seoul, Korea.
We also successfully set up a fully registered society for the academic arm of the College of Radiology. It is called the Malaysia Society of Radiologists, or MyRAD for short. The motto is ‘Enhancing radiology. Elevating Learning’. In the future, conferences for CoR will be handled by MyRAD.
Much effort and work have gone into planning the MCOR 2022 and MyRAD Congress, which will be held in Ascott Gurney Penang, from 7th to 9th December 2022. The Congress is held in the UNESCO Heritage City of Georgetown.
The MCOR/MyRAD 2022 theme is Precision Imaging: Beyond Pixels and Positron which is specially curated to reflect the future of imaging, bridging structure and function.
I would like to welcome all radiology colleagues; members and non-members and those interested in radiology to senior radiologists to join us this year in Penang. It is time for us to re-connect and re-establish our network.
To our international colleagues reading this message, Malaysia is ready to welcome all of you in 2022 to our wonderful country. With the affordable exchange rates and relaxation of our country’s travel requirements, we hope to make it back into your bucket list of places to discover in 2022. Come, experience our culture and cuisine and don’t forget to bring your family along.
I wish everyone good health and stay safe, until we meet in December in tropical sunny Penang.
